Our body changes during life: cells die and regenerate. But with each decade they recover worse and worse. After 30 years, a person begins to lose 1-2% of muscle mass per year, even if he leads an active lifestyle. All tissues of the body suffer losses, resulting in signs of aging in the skin. We call it aging and we know it cannot be stopped.
The external signs of aging appear around the age of 25
Why the signs of aging are visible on the skin:
- the fat layer is reduced.
- Bone mass decreases.
- the connective tissue is destroyed.
Metabolism slows down in connective tissue. The building materials of our body are produced less and less: proteins (collagen and elastin) and polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans). In general, the aging process consists in the gradual loss of these components. What can we do? Just try to slow down aging. Often even improve the condition of the skin, renew it with the help of proper care.
How do essential oils for the face work against wrinkles?
In plants, essential oils participate in metabolic processes. The main components of esters - terpenoids and aromatic compounds - enter very quickly and actively into various chemical reactions inside the cells. Active chemical reactions also occur when ether comes into contact with human skin. The phenols, aldehydes, organic acids and alcohols in the ether cause skin irritation and blood flows faster at the point of contact with them. Thanks to this effect, compresses and applications with oil work. The higher the concentration of the oil and the longer the exposure, the more active the skin reaction.
Essential oils do not contain vitamins. The vitamin is retained in either water or fat; there is no fat or water in the ester.
Using facial oil for wrinkles
When it comes to treating fine lines and wrinkles, the options seem endless. Should you choose a cream or a light antiaging moisturizer? How about a vitamin C acid serum or gel?
Essential oils can't get rid of wrinkles, but they can help minimize them.
They can also:
- accelerates collagen production
- improve skin tone
- smooth the skin
- reduce inflammation
- increase in turnover of epithelial cells
- protect your skin from the environment
Which facial oil should I choose for wrinkles instead of cream?
One of the most valuable components of skin oils are lipids (fats). They stick the horn cells (scales) together, creating a protective barrier that holds in moisture. It also protects against the penetration of harmful microorganisms.
By applying it to the skin in its pure form, it seems to us that we thus strengthen this protective barrier and the skin is saturated with moisture.
But the problem is that not a single vegetable oil contains a lipid ratio suitable for our dermis. When applied to the face, we immediately feel hydrated and comfortable due to the fact that it smooths the keratin scales and softens. It also creates a moisture-retaining film on the surface.
If we continue to apply it regularly, it will begin to penetrate deeper into the skin layer and erode our own lipids. Their ratio will begin to change, which will lead to the destruction of the lipid barrier. The skin will become even more dry and flaky.
Therefore, to strengthen the lipid layer, it will be much more beneficial to consume fats internally.
But there is also good news. Thanks to their moisturizing and emollient properties, vegetable oils are ideal for treating wrinkles if you approach it wisely.
In combination with other ingredients, they have a beneficial effect on the skin and smooth fine wrinkles. Therefore, it is even recommended to use them in various mask recipes.
But so that the skin does not get used to it, the recipes must be constantly changed. But more on this below: For the reasons mentioned above, it is not recommended to use it regularly in its pure form, so replacing it with daily care instead of a cream will not work, as it can cause serious harm.
For wrinkles, for additional hydration and softness, it is used in its pure form only in case of emergency for a course of 1-2 weeks. This must be done by observing the following rules:
- Before application, the face must be wet.
- the number of drops according to your skin type: dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, oily 1-2.
- after 15-20 minutes, wipe the cover with a paper towel, thereby removing its excess.
- after use, be sure to apply moisturizer.
- Apply oil to the area around the eyes two hours before going to bed to avoid severe puffiness.
An effective and safer option for using anti-wrinkle oil is to add a small amount of drops to various masks, the recipes for which are given below. In combination with other ingredients for 20-30 minutes, such compositions will only bring benefits, provided that it is chosen correctly (more on this later).
Antiaging can be done 2-3 times a week. At the same time, so that the skin does not get used to it, it is recommended to change the composition of the masks once a month.
